Star Wars: KOTOR Revisiting an Epic Game

Hey, I’m super stoked to talk about Star Wars: KOTOR! As a huge Star Wars fan, this game has really stolen my heart. It’s seriously got some cool new features and gameplay that I haven’t seen in any other Star Wars game before. So let’s dive into the review and take a closer look at what makes this game so awesome!

Developed by BioWare

If you’re a Star Wars fan and looking for a great game to play on your iOS, Android, or Windows Phone device, check out Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (aka KotOR). Originally launched for the Xbox, it’s now available on newer devices thanks to Aspyr Media. Developed by BioWare and published by LucasArts, it landed on the Xbox in 2003 and later came to PCs running Windows and Mac OS X. Aspyr Media released the updated version for iPhone and iPad in 2013, and then for Android in 2014. Whether you’re a newcomer or a returning fan, you’re sure to love the fun and adventure of KotOR.

KOTOR game choices. Light and dark sides

Embark on Epic Adventure

One of the best things about KOTOR it is that you can choose whether to be a goodie-two-shoes on the light side or embrace the dark side. And get this, the game even keeps track of your choices and actions in the game to determine which side you’re leaning towards. It’s like your own little Star Wars adventure! Awesome!

KOTOR combat turnbased system

Revolutionizing battles in KOTOR

So, when it comes to battling in the game, things work on a turn-based system. Basically, everyone takes their actions at the same time during each round. But, there’s a limit to how many things each fighter can do in a round. Each round lasts about six seconds, but you can actually set it up so the battle pauses at certain points if you need some time to plan out your moves. Overall, it’s a pretty strategic approach to battling and can make for some really exciting gameplay.

KOTOR Darth Malak and Darth Revan

Galactic Conflict Unfolds: KOTOR Plot

Check this out! “Knights of the Old Republic” takes us back a whopping 4000 years before Luke and the gang in the Skywalker saga. The whole galaxy is caught up in a crazy war, led by the evil Darth Malak, who learned everything he knows from Darth Revan. Jedi are getting seriously outnumbered, as some of their own have switched sides. But don’t worry, the Jedi Order is doing their darndest to keep fighting the good fight and bring some peace to the galaxy once and for all.

KOTOR Endar Spire over Taris

Battle of Taris

As the game begins, you find yourself in the midst of a chaotic and intense situation above the Outer Rim planet of Taris. Your role is that of a Republic soldier, facing a daunting task of defending and protecting the Endar Spire from a fierce attack. It is a daunting mission, to say the least, considering that you have barely enough time to brace yourself for the oncoming battle.

KOTOR companions

A Company of Heroes

Once you meet Bastila Shan, you and your team will go on a crazy adventure to find this super evil dude named Darth Malak. On your way, you’ll make some pretty cool new friends like Carth Onasi, Zaalbar, Jolee Bindo, and, my personal favorite, HK-47. And get this, you’ll even get to hit up some famous planets like Dantooine, Tatooine, and Kashyyk. Trust me, it’s gonna be epic!

KOTOR Star Forge

Superweapon: Star Forge

So there’s this insane superweapon called the Star Forge that’s like, even more dangerous than the Death Star (just barely though, you know). Originally it was made to create ships and other cool stuff by using energy from a nearby star, but things got messed up when some Dark Side vibes got into the mix from its creators. Plus, anyone who uses it totally falls under its control and becomes all Dark Side-y, even Darth Malak who’s a real big bad guy. So, it’s super important that we get rid of it for real this time and put an end to Darth Malak’s nonsense so that the galaxy can stay safeish.

KOTOR Bastila Shan captures Revan and wipes his memories

Twist of Fate-Who is Revan?

Spoiler Alert! So, it turns out that Bastila Shan and the Jedi Council had a hand in wiping Darth Revan’s memory and starting him fresh as a soldier in the Republic’s army. The goal was to join forces and hunt down their common enemy, Malak. And get this, you’re actually playing the part of the ex-Darth Revan-turned-Republic soldier in the story! Cool, right?

KOTOR Darth Revan

Decide your fate

In this game, you gotta decide whether you wanna go to the Dark Side or stick with the Light. It’s all based on your past life as Darth Revan! But no matter what you pick, you’re gonna eventually face off against Darth Malak. Your choices shape the outcome of the story, so choose wisely!…Revan!

Conclusion

Ok so if you’re a Star Wars fan, you absolutely have to play Bioware’s Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR). This game sets the bar high and lets you explore all sorts of cool planets and talk to tons of interesting characters. Plus, the choices you make along the way will totally shape your journey and, ultimately, whether you become a Jedi or Sith (both are pretty epic, just sayin’). Trust me, even if you’re not a die-hard Star Wars fan, KOTOR is worth playing for the immersive experience alone. Keep an eye out for our upcoming review of KOTOR II: The Sith Lords – it’s gonna be a good one! And, of course, may the Force be with you.
